After 7,000-plus votes were cast, Kevin Sanchez walked away with National Performer of the Week honors on Friday.

The Austin Vandegrift (TX) junior claimed over 43-percent of the vote and a total of 3,225 votes to claim victory, whizzing by second-place Omer Ibrahim (37-percent) and Patrick Koon (17-percent), who each earned over 2,700 and 1,300 votes on their own, respectively.

Sanchez was a nominee by virtue of his performance at the Southlake Carroll Invitational on Aug. 28, when he posted his second win of the season in 15:05.71. This past week, Sanchez dropped a career best 14:44.78, for his third win of the campaign.

A big congrats goes out to Sanchez on his win, and to all the other nominees.

Now let's move on to Week 4 of the NPOTW XC poll.

Make sure you vote for whom you think should win this week's honor. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll. Better yet, each boy and girl winner will win a pair of New Balance shoes.

We are requesting winners (or their parents or coaches) from each week to email Cory Mull at cory.mull@flosports.tv and Olivia Ekpone at olivia.ekpone@flosports.tv to notify us of your contact.

Vote below in the poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments. You can also vote in our National Girls Performer of the Week poll.
