Gary Martin had a performance on April 24 that went down in the Pennsylvania outdoor track and field record books.

And his reward?

On Friday he was named National Performer of the Week for Week 6, securing 75-percent of the tallies over the voting period.

His performance the weekend prior in the 1,600m certainly deserved it. Martin secured a new personal best and US No. 5 time of 4:07.20 at the Whippet Invitational, posting the second-fastest time in Pennsylvania history.

A big congrats goes out to Martin -- and all the other nominees -- on another successful week of voting.

Now let's move on to Week 7. We'll have eight candidates in this week's poll. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll.
