Two Illinois standouts raced to the finish line during this past week's National Peformer of the Week honor.

And ultimately, only 150 votes separated Niko Schultz and Drew Rogers.

But it was Schultz, the high school senior from Plainfield South, who gapped Rogers at the line, winning Week 11 honors after his US No. 1 performance in the 600m at the Misfits Invitational.

Schultz accumulated nearly 1,200 votes after his nomination, which came after he ran 1:19.86 in Chicago. Rogers, a junior from Herscher, earned just over 1,000 votes after running 4:11.77 in the 1,600m and 9:05.35 in the 3,200m at the same meet.

A big congrats goes out to Schultz on the win, as well as a kudos to every other nominee.

Now let's move on to Week 12 of our Indoor National Performer of the Week.

We'll have seven candidates in this week's poll. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll.
