Many state champions were crowned at the VHSL 4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

One of them happens to be Madison Whyte of Heritage (Newport News).

The sophomore won her first pair of outdoor state championship titles in the 200m and 400m. In the 200m, Whyte was one of two underclassmen to finish in the top eight. She clocked 23.62 (-0.1) to grab the title by nearly two seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

She doubled back in the quarter and won that event by almost three seconds over the second-place finisher. She won this event in 54.75. It wasn't her personal best, but it was her third-fastest time of the year.

Throughout the week, Whyte tallied more than 70-percent of the votes to be named National Performer Of The Week honors. Congratulations Whyte on earning your first set of outdoor state titles.

Whyte won the VHSL Group 4 State Indoor Track and Field Championships earlier this year in the 300m with a personal best of 37.81. She also finished second in the 55m.

Now let's move on to Week 15 of the outdoor National Performer of the Week presented by New Balance poll.

Vote for whom you think should win this week's national honor following this most recent week of action. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll. Better yet, each boy and girl winner will win a pair of New Balance shoes

We are requesting winners (or their parents or coaches) from each week to email Cory Mull at cory.mull@flosports.tv and Olivia Ekpone at olivia.ekpone@flosports.tv to notify us of your contact.

Vote below in the poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments. For reference, check our Top 25 Outdoor Performances of the Week. You can also vote in our National Boys Performer of the Week poll.
