Lauren Tolbert showed strength and that resulted in a major improvement in the 800m at the NCRunners Twilight last weekend.

Leading up to this race, she ran a 2:11.64 at the Ken Roberts-Panthers Elite Track and Field Challenge just a week prior.

The Highland Tech (NC) junior made huge strides to set a new lifetime best for the second weekend in a row. This time around, she dipped down the 2:10 marker and ran 2:07.77 to win the title.

She's now US No. 10.

Over the course of the week, Tolbert accumulated almost 50-percent of the votes. Congratulations Tolbert for the huge improvement and for making strides up the leaderboard.

Now let's move on to Week 12 of the outdoor National Performer of the Week presented by New Balance poll.

Vote for whom you think should win this week's national honor following this most recent week of action. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll. Bette yet, each boy and girl winner will win a pair of New Balance shoes

We are requesting winners (or their parents or coaches) from each week to email Cory Mull at cory.mull@flosports.tv and Olivia Ekpone at olivia.ekpone@flosports.tv to notify us of your contact.
