7. The Dominant 600m Performer From New York

Springfield Gardens (NY) High School senior Reheem Hayles had a breakout season in the long sprints and middle distance events.
His best event was in the 600m, where he never gave up his US No. 1 time across the season, lowering it in January, February and March. That ladder performance, the fastest of his career, came at the NYSPHSAA State Indoor Championships.
The senior ran 1:18.48 to become the sixth-fastest performer of all-time and now holds the 11th-fastest performance all together. Hayles not only excelled at the 600m, but he also saw success in other events as well.
The recent North Carolina A&T Commit ran the US No. 3 time in the 400m (47.64), the US No. 4 time in the 500m (1:03.81) and the US No. 6 time in the 300m (34.07).
