11. The Startlingly Fast Relay Run That Held Up All Season Long

- - -

As we mentioned yesterday in the girls post, the Texas A&M High School invitational has become a venue for speedy times in Texas over the last decade.

One of the most startling boys' performances to hold up over the season, though?

That had to be Fort Bend Marshall's (TX) 4x400 relay, which clocked a nation-leading 3:18.40 on January 11 and was one of three performances under 3:18.40 -- two other teams, both of which beat the Buffaloes, were the Southern Eagles and The Wings, though both were clubs teams.

The time held up as the top time throughout indoors. Only four other teams nationally broke 3:20.

Every one of them took place in either February or March.

That effort says a lot about just how talented this Texas team is on the relay -- and signals what kind of potential the squad has over the outdoor season.

Watch the race above and Fort Bend Marshall cruise to the nation-leading mark.
