5. Bullis School's Annual Move Up To No. 1

- - -

It's almost become a rite of passage to witness a US No. 1 relay from the Bullis School girls in January at The VA Showcase.

The squad from Maryland, since 2017, has been absolutely deadly at the 4x200 and 4x400 relay distances, grabbing a national record at the 4x200 in 2018 in 1:34.75, before adding a US No. 2 all-time effort of 3:39.60 in the 4x400m.

It has led to two national titles in the 4x400 and another in the 4x200 over a three-year period. And while we'll never know what would have happened at New Balance Nationals Indoor in 2020, it's safe to say Bullis School's girls were ready.

In January, the squad posted US No. 1s of 1:37.19 in the 4x200 (from the Millrose Games) and 3:44.15 in the 4x400 (at The VA Showcase), largely from the teams of Leah Phillips, Shaniya Hall, Sage Hinton and Victoria Perrow.

The closest national competition was two and three seconds away in those events, respectively.
