4. A Breakout Campaign For Juliette Whittaker

- - -

What an indoor season it was for Whittaker.

The Mount De Sales sophomore absolutely exploded, going into the record books twice in both the 800m and 1K.

At her Maryland Private School Championships on Feb. 1, Whittaker ran the eighth-fastest 1K of all-time, doing so in 2:45.49, a solo effort that saw the next closest competitor 25 seconds back.

But perhaps more impressively, she did the exact same thing in the 800m at the Fastrack Last Chance meet on Feb. 28, running the third-fastest mark in high school history in 2:03.01, beating the second-place performer by 13 seconds.

Whittaker's versatility was simply incredible. She also posted the second-best mile time in 4:43.89 and the fifth-fastest 3,200m effort in 10:23.14.
