Ben Veatch is ranked Top-5 in the country and proved he belongs there after becoming only the second athlete since 1997 to break 15 minutes at the IHSAA State Champs in 14:59.8. With a 15:53 average he helped the US #9 Carmel squad secure a state championship.

It was a huge day for the Carmel cross country team! Sarah Leinheiser crossed the line first in the girls race after a hard fought battle. She had company for most of the race and put in surge after surge until she began to pull away in the final mile and extend her lead to nearly twenty seconds and finish in 17:30. The team race had initially looked up in the air through the early stages of the race. As the dust settled, Carmel girls had 4 in the Top-15 for a dominant 70 points.
