Will Wilde compete for a national title? That could certainly be in the cards. A year ago, he won six of nine races and battled with Connor Burns at the Chile Pepper Festival, where he finished second to the Oregon recruit in 14:36.20.
That performance was also the second-fastest in Missouri history. Wilde, a Liberty North senior, went on to win a Class 5 state title defeating the likes of Ian Kemey, Tyler Harris and Andrew Hauser, who is No. 23 on this list.
While Wilde did not have the finish he would have liked at NXR Midwest, finishing 57th in 15:35.70, Wilde has one more chance to prove himself in 2023.
