No. 22: Jack Meier
- - -
School: West Salem (OR)
Year: 2024
2022 Notable Finishes: 35th at Garmin RunningLane XC Championships in 15:43.00; 4th at Oregon Class 6A Championships; 1st at District Championships in 14:46.30; 7th at Nike Portland XC.
Analysis: With Tyrone Gorze and Alexander Garcia-Silver off to college, that leaves Meier as the top returning runner in Oregon.
In fact, Meier is one of only two athletes returning with a 5K time under 15 minutes in the state. So it's safe to say this should be a banner year for the West Salem standout.
After scooping up notable performances at the Ash Creek Festival (third), Nike Portland XC (seventh) and Nike Hole in the Wall (fifth), Meier finished his fall with a fourth-place finish at the Oregon Class 6A Championships and then ended his campaign with a 35th-place outing at the Garmin RunningLane XC Championships.
Meier's outdoor schedule saw him claim a runner-up nod in the 3K at the Oregon State Championships and an outdoor 5K PR of 14:44 on the track at Nike Outdoor Nationals.
