Montverde's Dominant Duo Converts On Exceptional 60m Haul
Girls 60m Results: The VA Showcase
---
The nation's fastest two girls at 60 meters are currently both Montverde Academy athletes.
And so Saturday's performances in Virginia Beach may have given us one more example of the Florida school's fast changing roadmap for success.
Achievement welcomes fast company.
In the girls 60m final, Micayah Holland ran 7.21 seconds, while Adaejah Hodge followed in 7.24.
Holland continued to prove just why she should be considered among the country's top stars. The University of Texas recruit not only ran the nation's top time at 60m -- which was No. 4 all-time for the distance -- but she also sliced open her 200m career best, posting an effort of 23.53 ... also a new U.S. No. 1 time.
The latter performance was her best by 0.43 seconds.
Hodge, meanwhile, may have had the race's top start on Saturday. She finished just three hundredths of a second behind Holland. That tied for seventh all-time at the distance and is now fourth for juniors.
