Paityn Noe Dominates Girls 3K Field In Arkansas

Sometime midway through her first 3,000 meter race of the indoor season, Paityn Noe made a move.
The Ballard (IA) senior, a top five finisher in December at the Champs Sports National Championships, leaned on her superior form on Saturday at the Arkansas High School Invitational to claim a new U.S. No. 3 time of 9:35.14.
But while Noe pulled away from her competition, the field itself featured a strong array of top talent.
Three girls finished under 10 minutes, all of which secured top 10 times nationally.
Edmond North's (OK) Liesel Kehoe was second in 9:46.88 while Addison Dorenkamp, a fellow Iowan from West Des Moines Valley, was third in 9:57.90.
Only Ellie Shea (9:10.85) and Karrie Baloga (9:25.64), who went No. 2 and No. 1 at Champs Sports alongside Noe, have been faster at the distance so far.
