Top 15 Girls Performers Of New Balance Nationals

5. Tia Jones (GA) - 100H Champ

While 8th grader Tyrese Cooper got a lot of attention rightfully so for his 46 second 400 to finish third at the New Balance Nationals, there was another middle schooler who topped his performance. Tia Jones, an 8th grader from Georgia, won the New Balance Nationals Outdoor 100 meter title over many of the nation's best high school hurdlers in one of the fastest times ever recorded regardless of grade in a wind-aided 13.08 clocking in the finals.

Some of the girls which she defeated included Texas state champions Tonea Marshall and 2014 New Balance Nationals champion Alexis Duncan, North Carolina state champions Anna Cockrell and Gabrielle Cunningham, Virginia state champion Funlayo Oluwole, and California state runner-up Jurnee Woodward. No girls hurdles field has been as loaded as the finals field which Jones faced and she beat them all.

Could she be challenging Dior Hall's 12.92 national record in her first year of high school track next fall? A national title before even getting to high school along with the swift 13.08 performance this past weekend makes Hall's year old record appear to be in serious jeopardy with Jones coming onto the high school scene.
