14. Haley Showalter (CO) - Hammer Throw Champ
While she was not happy with her mark, Haley Showalter has to be happy with becoming the 2015 New Balance Nationals champion in the hammer throw. The US #1 ranked athlete in the event with a season best throw of 191'0", the University of Wisconsin commit was just over a dozen feet off that mark with her best throw in Greensboro at 178'5". However, Showalter's mark was enough to stay ahead of her top challenger in Sabrina Gaitan (2nd, 174'3") from Georgia, who had faced the Colorado state champ Showalter earlier in 2015 in the weight throw indoors at the Simplot Games.
A runner-up in last year's New Balance Nationals Outdoor hammer throw competition, Showalter also an All-American over the weekend in the discus with a mark of 153'2".
