Top 15 Girls Performers Of New Balance Nationals

9. Sharrika Barnett (FL) - 400m Champ

After being the US leader in the 400 for much of the year, Sharrika Barnett of Oak Ridge High School in Florida, Barnett spent the past few weeks as US #2 in the event after Sydney McLaughlin's 52.59 performance at the New Jersey Group Championships. In her final high school track meet, Barnett not only regained her US #1 ranking with a 52.25 personal best effort, but also her first national title on Sunday at the New Balance Nationals.

The University of Florida recruit was a national runner-up last year in the 400 at 53.43 and that would be Barnett's last loss at her specialty going undefeated at 400 meters for her senior year. It was a 1-2 finish for state of Florida as Barnett held off sophomore Symone Mason from Miami Southridge (53.07).
