Analysis: Thomsen's 2022 cross season was full of breakthroughs. In her season opener at Nike Portland XC, she clocked a time of 16:49 in the 5K to win the title.
Thomsen was able to continue working toward an undefeated season as she defended her CIF Division 3 cross country state title. She earned a spot to compete at her first national cross country championships. In Oregon, Thomsen finished 16th at NXN, earning an All-American finish.
During the spring, she set a best of 4:43 for 1,600m (U.S. No. 23) and 9:55 in the 3,200m (U.S. No. 8).
