Archbishop Carroll Surprises In Rain-Soaked 4x100 Final
- - -
The Championship of America boys 4x100 was supposed to be IMG Academy's time to shine.
The Florida program, which had owned the nation's top performance of 2023, had run the fastest prelim on Thursday. No Florida team had ever won the COA final.
But that story did not materialize, because after IMG stuttered after the first pass, it opened the door for another program to take over. Jamaica College took that mistake and ran with it, finishing first in 40.97 seconds.
Archbishop Carroll, the DC-based program with five-star football stud Nyckoles Harbor on anchor, covered the gap in the final exchange, surging to third-place in 41.19 seconds, just a hundredth of a second off of St. Elizabeth Technical, which was second in 41.19.
