It's not often that you can step into a national-level race and lead from pole to finish.
But that's exactly what Cornwall's Karrie Baloga did on Friday at The Penn Relays.
The Colorado signee fought off several changes and ran away with the victory in 9:20.75, a full 11 second improvement from her performance last year.
Timpview's Jane Hedengren finished in second in 9:24.56, going from 22nd to second from the start to finish.
Ciara O'Shea, the accomplished veteran from Madison Central (KY), was third in 9:26.26.
