Division I, II, III Results l Photos
Stevens Point has developed a reputation for performing on Wisconsin's top stage in cross country for years now.
This season was no different.
On Saturday in the Division I championships, the boys from Stevens Point, roughly 90 minutes west of Green Bay, put two athletes in the top five and their next three in the top 25 to secure their latest state title, scoring 39 points.
The next-closest competitor, Oconomowoc, totaled 86 while Madison West was third in 128.
A state as notoriously hilly and rolling as Wisconsin, times have to be taken with some insight. And so, some due has to be given to Stevens Points' 16:03 average and 48-second spread, which could translate to some sound running at the regional level.
