Utah Pre-State Results

Let's take it back to Thursday.

American Fork junior Daniel Simmons, the Cavemen's No. 1 -- and a recent transfer from Salmon HS (ID) -- won the Utah Pre-State Meet with a winning time of 14:31.80 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City, racking up a 188 speed rating.

That's particularly impressive, considering the meet was sitting at 4,200 feet of elevation.

American Fork's boys, looking to gear up ahead of an early postseason nearing in October, scored 30 points across a 15:20 average. All five scorers were over 165.

Junior Ben Bradshaw was fourth in 15:16.70 while junior Ben Jaster was sixth in 15:26.90. Seth Smith and Chase Pack were ninth and 10th, respectively, in 15:42.50 and 15:42.90.

Earlier, the American Fork girls we also dominant, defeating Mountain Ridge behind a 90-second spread and a 18:14 average.
