Cade Miracle, Ciara O'Shea Pick Up Wins At Trinity/Valkyrie

One of the most dominant girls runners in Kentucky history capped her high school career with a course record at Tom Sawyer Park on Saturday, winning the elite race at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in a time of 17:16.86.
Yet again, Ciara O'Shea shined.
That performance for the Madison Central (KY) senior marked a 22-second improvement from her best effort of 17:40 on the course back in 2020 and her third under 18 minutes on her career. In total, O'Shea has run five times at Tom Sawyer Park over her tenure, including two more at the Greater Louisville XC Classic across the 2019 and 2020 seasons, and has run faster than 18:20 on all five occasions.
O'Shea is looking to claim her fifth-straight Kentucky state title this season.
Dupont Manual's Jessica Secor was second overall in 17:49.59 while Elizabethtown's Ella Johnson was third in 17:59.64. Mason (OH) secured its fourth straight victory over the 2022 season -- and interestingly enough, earned the 'home-and-home' matchup with dupont Manual, which finished second to the Ohio team at the Mason Invitational last week in Ohio.
Bell County's Caden Miracle, meanwhile, won the boys race in 15:07.70, securing a new career PR by 30 seconds.
Mason's Isaac Schachleiter was second in 15:11.90 while Floyd Central's Will Conway was third in 15:13.90. Mason, the No. 16 ranked team on the MileSplit50, posted a dominant win with 52 points.
