One of Florida's most promising sprinters captured top honors on Friday.

Montverde Academy junior Zyaire Nuriddin was the star attraction from last weekend's round of track and field action at the Louie Bing Invitational, and his performance resulted in a National Performer of the Week honor for Week 8.

Nurridin posted three Florida top five times and scored two wins in the 200m and 400m, respectively, going 21.44 and 46.73. He was second in the 100m in 10.63.

For his efforts, he secured just under 200 votes and over 38-percent of the tallies. A big congrats goes out to Nuriddin on the win, and to all the other nominees.

We will recognize a winner every week in this poll, with nominations handed out on Monday. The poll will end on Friday and winners will be announced the following Monday.

National Performer of the Week winners from July to December -- during New Balance's sponsorship of the weekly award -- should have received New Balance gear and apparel in recent days. If you have not received anything, please contact Cory Mull at cory.mull@flosports.tv.
