The most exciting meet of the weekend lived up to every expectation and beyond.

Records were shattered on both the boys and girls sides at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic.

Newbury Park (CA) junior Leo Young led the Panthers, crossing the finish line in a new national 3-mile best of 13:38 to shatter his older brother Nico Young's previous record of 13:39.70.

The Panthers swept the top four spots in the sweepstakes race while each of them ran faster than 13:50 on this course. It was truly a historic race.

Aaron Sahlman finished behind Young in 13:42.3; Lex Young, Young's twin, finished third; and Colin Sahlman was fourth.

The top four runners earned 197, 196, 195 and 194 speed ratings, and objectively,  there aren't any other teams who have its top runners all coming in with 190 speed ratings.

The Panthers' fifth-runner, Hector Martinezfinished 25th and earned a 177 speed rating. This team broke the team time record of 71:13.7, which Newbury Park set in 2019. This year, Newbury Park totaled 69:30.9.

Let's not forget the girls race, though.

Mira Costa's Dalia Frias had an outstanding performance in the girls sweepstakes race with the second-fastest 3-mile performance ever recorded in high school. She shattered the meet record when she clocked a 15:43.5, broke Brie Oakley's course record of 15:53.6 and secured a 156 speed rating.

Finishing right behind her was Newbury Park's Samantha McDonnell, who helped the Panthers grab the team title with an overall time of 15:54.6. Texans Natalie Cook of Flower Mound (TX) and Isabel Conde de Frankenberg of Cedar Park (TX)  finished third and fourth, respectively. California's Sydney Sundgren and freshman Sadie Engelhardt were fifth and seventh in 16:03.3 and 16:04.6

Coming in sixth was Arizona's Lauren Ping, who clocked a time of 16:04.5 to just edge out Engelhardt.
