Other standout performances from over the weekend:

  • Saratoga Springs' (NY) girls won the Queensbury Invitational. Emily Bush led the team with a 17:43.64 for 5K and a speed rating of 141. Sheridan Wheeler, Mckinley Wheeler, Anya Belisle, and Mackenzie Hart finished in the top 7. 
  • At the Heartland Classic, Derek Leicht finished the 5K race in 15:37.3 to win the title and earned a 184 speed rating for his efforts. Alex McKane of Iowa City West edged out Millard West's Sam Kirchner for second place. They clocked 15:40.4 and 15:40.8 respectively to earn 183 and 182 speed ratings. 
  • Freshman Sydney Drevlow won her third race of the season at the Heartland Classic in 18:03.80 for 5K. She earned a 137 speed rating and won the meet by 11 seconds.  
  • Madison Central's (KY) Ciara O'Shea won the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in 17:51.43. In the boys race, Alexander Partlow won the meet by two seconds over Brady Masters. Partlow clocked a 15:12.14 to Master's 15:14.18.
