At the Pre-States McDaniel-Baxter Invitational in New York, the Corning boys and Fayetteville-Manlius girls looked strong.

Gitch Hayes of LaSalle Institute won the meet in 15:47.9 and was the only boy to break 16 minutes in this race. He earned a 189 speed rating for his performance. 

Finishing in second was Jack Gregorski, the senior from Corning who clocked a 16:01.9 and helped Corning to the victory.

Runners two-through-five finished in the top 28 out of 675 participants and they each finished with speed rating greater than 160. 

Corning scored 84 points and had a 16:50.5 average. This team finished ahead of Fayetteville-Manlius' 147 points and Pittsford-Mendon's 160. 


* Hannah Kaercher won the Pre-State meet and led Fayetteville-Manlius to the team title

On the girls side, Fayetteville-Manlius showed dominance by having all five of its runners finish in the top 29 out of 463 runners. 

Hannah Kaercher won the meet in 18:05 while freshman teammate Izzie Sullivan finished right behind in her 18:19.3 respectively. Kaercher and Sullivan earned 144 and 140 speed ratings for their performance. 

Fayetteville-Manlius finished with a 19:06 average and with 51 points. This team finished ahead of Cornings's 147 and Cierco-North Syracuses' 179.
