Athletes To Watch: Sean Jackson, Gavin Schurr, Aaron Bell, Brandon Miller, Udodi Onwuzurike, Laurenz Colbert, Jaylen Slade

Pending the nation's leaders in this event reach the final round, expect this championship race to be absolutely bonkers. Five of the country's top 10 athletes at the distance are entered.

On the one hand, Slade could run away with it. The IMG Academy junior set a new indoor national record -- in amazing fashion -- last weekend at the American Track League in 20.62 seconds.

But Fairview's Gavin Schurr also broke 21 seconds, running the fourth-fastest time in high school history in 20.84 seconds. Will those two battle to the line again? Will someone like Laurenz Colbert, who owns the country's third fastest time -- and was DQ'ed at that same ATL event -- at 21.08, be in the hunt?

Michigan's Brandon Miller, who set a state record at the American Track League in 21.34, is a sleeper who has a chance to run up on history, too. The same can be said for Jackson, a senior from South County who has produced three times under 22 seconds.

All together, there should be two handfuls of athletes who go under 22. But just how many will break 21 again?

Only Slade has done that before on the same track -- in fact, he's the only high school athlete in history to ever break 21 seconds more than once in a season.
