Boys Championship Long Jump

Athletes To Watch: Johnny Brackins, Jaden Price-Whitehead, Kaelen Mitchell, Solomon Washington, Leonard Mustari

Four of the top five athletes in this event nationally are entered in the final section. But really, this might be the first to 25-feet wins it.

Price-Whitehead has been searching for that coveted 25-foot jump all season, and he got close on Dec. 5 when he went 24-10.75. He's currently US No. 1 in the event, but he's leapt to 23-foot marks on three other occasions across the season.

Mitchell, meanwhile, has the best record this season, having won the long jump at The VA Showcase with a mark of 24-3.25. He certainly will be right there in the hunt -- plus, he has two marks over 24-feet this season.

Mustari's aims are squarely focused on winning the 60mH, but anything in the LJ is an added luxury. The Fort Myers, Florida, native has gone a US No. 4 mark of 23-11.5.

And we can't forget about Brackins, who owns a US No. 5 mark of 23-9.75. The future Southern California jumper has the ability to pop off -- and something is telling me he hasn't done it quite yet in 2021.
