The week before last, Westlake's (GA) Sidi Njie won both the 200m and 400m at his GHSA 7A Regional meet, punching his ticket to the next round of qualifying for the Georgia State Championships.
Njie clocked 20.67 and 46.07, which for the 400m state record holder, was business as usual. He's currently the top sprinter in the state of Georgia, and his journey to state lived another week, as he swept both events again at Sectionals this past weekend.
Njie picked up 39.09% of the votes last week, edging out Malachi Yehudah from Langston Hughes (GA) who collected 32.49% of the votes.
Just like last week, voting for this week's poll will close at 12:00 p.m. CST on Friday.

This Week's Nominees:
Brendan Herger, Northville (MI): At the Trials of Miles @ Icahn over the weekend, the Michigan senior made the most of his opportunity in the 800m. Herger was the lone man under 1:50, clocking 1:49.44 for the win, one of the fastest times in state history. Herger also moved up to the top of the national leaderboard this season, becoming just the 5th high schooler this spring to run under 1:50.
Daniel Simmons, American Fork (UT): Giving a glimpse of what's to come over his next couple of years in Provo, UT, Simmons broke his own state record in the 1600m, stopping the clock in 4:01.78. Not only was it a new record, but obviously it was a new PB, besting his old mark of 4:03.45. Simmons' performance came at 4500 feet of elevation, and he sits No. 2 in the 1600m this season.
Brady Mullen, Jesuit (LA): Have yourself a day Brady Mullen! The junior absolutely shattered the Class 5A state meet record of 9:06, a record that had stood since 1996. Mullen's fantastic solo effort saw him finish in 8:48.36, his third time under 8:50 this outdoor season. According to MileSplit's database, Mullen threw down the fastest time the state of Louisiana has seen since Bobby Beck ran 8:43.84 back in 1979.
Luke Stradley, Etowah (GA): The junior jumper had a pretty busy day at his GHSA 6A Sectional, competing in the long, triple and high jump. Luckily, it was business as usual, with Stradley qualifying for state in all three. In the long jump, Stradley left with a new personal best of 25-3, his first time ever jumping farther than 25-0. In the triple, he also earned a new PB, jumping 49-3. He cleared 6-2 in the high jump, which wasn't a PB but was enough to win and punch his ticket to state. Stradley ranks No. 2 and No. 14 in the long and triple nationwide.
Victor Olesen, St. Christopher's (VA): Another week, another PB in the pole vault, but this one coming in dominant fashion at the Dogwood Track Classic in Charlottesville, VA. The sophomore cleared 17-3, winning the competition by 2.5 feet. Over the last two years, Olesen has cleared 17-0 five different times, but it had never been by more than 1.5 inches. This spring, the sophomore is tied for the 4th best jump in the country, and he is the top non-senior vaulter in outdoor. Olesen's clearance puts him in the No. 2 spot in sophomore history, with world record holder Mondo Duplantis being the only athlete ahead of him.
