Boys 400 Meter Championship: Ashton Allen vs. Justin Robinson

Contenders: Anthony Brodie, Julian Klenner, EJ Richardson III, Randolph Ross, Seydi Sall, Elijah Berry

Why:

With all due respect to all the capable runners here (mentioned above), this race will be a showdown between Allen and Robinson.

Allen has been very quiet since the beginning of the month with his open races, while Robinson has gone heads up with several great athletes en route to posting nationally elite times at a number of distances.

He currently leads the country in the 400m with his 46.77 and has the potential to drop that time here. But the question will be what Allen, currently the No. 1 ranked athlete on the MileSplit50, can bring to the table.

A win for either isn't guaranteed, especially with the likes of Ross, who's ranked No. 4 (47.87) in the country, and Klenner (48.16), who's been coached by the likes of Rohan Grant -- and if you can remember, he helped guide Austin Kratz to a national title in the 200m last year.

This will be one of the best races at NBNI this year.
