Boys 400m Championship

Entries: 36

2018 Winner: Brian Herron, Decatur, Georgia, 46.31

Armory Record: Elzie Coleman, Newburgh, New York, 46.12

National Record: Elzie Coleman, Newburgh, New York, 45.92

Threats To Win: Ashton Allen, Elijah Berry, Anthony Brodie, Theo Burba, Evan Matthews, Edward Richardson III, Randolph Ross, Justin Robinson, Seydi Sall, Julian Klenner

Analysis: This is arguably the most tantalizing race of NBNI. You have the No. 1 athlete on the MileSplit50 (Ashton Allen) up against the No. 1 runner at 400 meters (Robinson). There's a sleeper like Ross, who's ranked No. 4 at the distance and might have a chip on his shoulder, and there's No. 7 Klenner, who's coached by Rohan Grant -- who coached Austin Kratz to a national title in the 200m in 2018. Brodie is ranked No. 14 at the distance, while two runners ranked No. 1 and No. 3 at 500 meters, Edward Richardson III and Seydi Sall, are also in the mix.

But Robinson vs. Allen in the finals?

That's worth the price of admission.
