Outlook: The year 2019 will mark the return of Effiong, who didn't compete in 2018 due to injury. So what should we expect from the DeSoto senior? As a sophomore, she was sixth fastest nationally in her class in the 400m (55.00) and 12th fastest in the 200m (24.63). Outdoors, she locked down even better times of 23.37/53.90. Since then, nearly every girls athlete in front of in those two events has experienced national success -- names such as Arria Minor, Brooke Jaworski, Britton Wilson and Jan'Taijah Ford. So don't be surprised if Effiong comes out hot. The senior will be motivated, and her rise in 2019 could start at Texas A & M.
