The Weekend Rundown: The Best Action From Around The Country

Sandburg (Illinois) High's Dylan Jacobs continues to be on fire.

The senior rocked a new U.S. No. 1 at 3-miles at the Peoria Invitational on Saturday, posting a blistering effort of 13:57.50, which is just the second performance under 14 minutes at 3-miles this fall.

It was the fifth fastest 3-mile time -- according to our records -- at Detweiller Park all-time. This course, for reference, is Illinois' state course.

Jacobs was also 34 seconds ahead of second-place performer Tommy Brady of Maine South, who clocked an impressive time of 14:31.

Sixteen boys clocked times under 15 minutes, making the invite one of the best thus far this season.
