Weekend Rewind: 7 Storylines To Know From The Past 7 Days

4. Ja'Shaun Lloyd Crashed The Hurdle Field In Texas

The Hurdles have been hotly contested this year, with multiple candidates putting the National Record on watch. L'ezra Brown (NC) put out his first notice when he ran 13.21 to win the Pepsi Relays, albeit with a wind just barely over the legal limit at +2.1m/s.

Well, Texas being Texas, that mark has been surpassed, doing so with a legal wind to boot. Ja'Shaun Lloyd (Corsicana, TX) destroyed the field at the Texas State Meet, clocking 13.20 into a negative headwind of -0.5m/s. Lloyd had gone US #2 All-Time in the 60HH to win Nike Indoor Nationals, and now matches that with a US #2 All-Time in the 110HH.

The wind correction calculator puts his time at 13.15 with a still day, chasing the National Record of 13.08 set by Wayne Davis (Southeast, NC) in 2009.

Meanwhile, in Maryland, the hurdles were running wild as well. Tyler Burgess (Palmyra) clocked a wind-legal 13.28, to take down L'Ezra Brown, and clock a new US #2.
