3. Jane Hendegren Elevated In History
Both Jane Hendegren's Father and Brother run/ran for BYU, her future school, so it's no shock she would end up there for a few meets before she officially enrolls this Summer. What is shocking is the times Hendegren is able to put up on the track, given the school rests at an elevation of 4500ft. Over the weekend, Jane tried the double, running 2:05.96 for a Utah State Record in the 800m. One day later, she returned to the track for the Mile, where she clocked 4:32.16.
According to the official TFFRS altitude correction, those marks equal 2:05.35 and 4:26.82, respectively. Jane had run the Indoor Mile National Record in a time of 4:26.14, and is now chasing the Outdoor Record of 4:27.71. It looks well within reach.
