The road to San Diego narrowed on Saturday as the Brooks Midwest, South and Northeast Cross Country Championships delivered harsh weather, breakout performances and decisive moves that shaped the fields for the 2025 Brooks XC Championships presented by Fleet Feet. Ten boys and ten girls from each region will earn qualifying spots, joining the twenty Golden Ticket selections already confirmed for Balboa Park on December 13.
The stretch toward the championships began in three very different corners of the country, where athletes braved blizzards, humidity, mud and pressure that felt heavier than any weather system. The regional championships unfolded with the kind of stakes that sharpen instincts and reveal the athletes capable of handling a national spotlight before they ever reach it.
