Jake Odey-Jordan is slowly but surely building his reputation. 

The Archbishop Carroll (DC) sophomore clocked in with some solid work on Saturday at The Bulldog Invitational in Lynchburg, Virginia, pocketing two wins in the 55m (6.38) and 300m (34.06), the latter of being a new personal best by nearly seven-tenths of a second and a new U.S. No. 6 time.

In only his second time competing in the 300m, Odey-Jordan ran 34.06 seconds and is now inching closer to 33 seconds, which is a time that 80 high schoolers have achieved before in history. 

A total of 255 elite performances went down over the weekend in Lynchburg, including:

  • Bazil Mathes victory in the 1,600m in 4:15.46
  • Drew Dillard's epic double in the 55mH (7.50) and HJ (6-9)
  • Josiah Wrice's scorching time of 1:04.74 in the 500m, a U.S. No. 14 performance. 
  • Junior Allen's U.S. No. 10 time of 2:30.60 in the 1K
  • Reese Dalton's 2:56.39 in the 1K and U.S. No. 9 effort of 4:54.50 in the 1,600m
  • Lauren Thomas' U.S. No. 31 winning effort of 8.27 in the 55mH
