The Scoop: Indoor Season Ramps Up With Top Performances

Dillon Morlock Throws Second 65-Footer This Season In Shot Put

Dillon Morlock of Norwayne (OH) is off to a strong start.

At the YSU High School Meet #2 in Ohio on Saturday, Morlock landed his second 65-footer in the shot put.

After throwing a U.S. No. 1 toss of 66-4.5 last weekend at the Kent St. HS Meet, Morlock turned around with a 65-10 toss to claim the title.

So far this year, the Michigan State signee is the only high school boy who's gone over 65 feet in the shot.

In a span of a season, Morlock had a six-foot improvement in this event.

His meet didn't end there as he also grabbed the weight throw victory over his brother by nearly eight feet. Morlock threw 69-2, which moved him up to U.S. No. 2 and his brother Brandt Morlock finished second with a 61-00 toss. They were the only boys in the competition to throw over 60 feet.

On the track, Logan St. John Kletter, the senior from Mount Lebanon (PA), easily cruised to the victory in the 3,200m as she stopped the clock in 10:14.94 to set a new lifetime best. This mark makes her the second-fastest girl in the country at this distance.

The North Carolina-Chapel Hill signee was coming off a win from last weekend at the VA Showcase where she also set a personal best in the mile with a 4:48.08.

* St. John Kletter clocks the second-fastest time in the country in the 3,200m
