This past weekend, the NCAA Division I college track and field season ended with the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas.

The nation's best runners, jumpers and throwers showed off their skills, including many younger athletes who will compete again on that stage in the coming years.

Below, we examine five true freshmen women who performed well at the meet. This list only includes women who competed at the high school level in the U.S. and were in the high school Class of 2022.
