Bryson Miller Sets New US No. 1 Standards In The 400m

A sprinter in South Carolina set a new U.S. No. 1 time in the 400m.

On the east coast, Bryson Miller of Dorman (SC) competed at the region 2 meet at the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic. He put down the nation's fastest performance in the one-lap race with a 46.09.

"I actually came in here wanting to run a 46 high or 47 low," Miller told MileSplit. "I definitely wasn't expecting [a low 46] and I'm definitely excited about the opener."

When the moment settled in for Miller, he said he only felt one thing.

"It felt great," Miller said. "I was so excited. I couldn't contain it but it felt great."

Miller is still working towards some goals for the remainder of the season. He said he wants to break 10.50 in the 100m, 21-flat in the 200m and break through the 46 barrier in the 400m.
