The Podium: Indoor Debuts And National Championships

- - -

The past week saw seasons collide as national championship action took place on the cross country course and the first of many meets to come on the track for the indoor season.

With that loaded schedule came great performances, some from distance athletes closing out their cross country seasons and others from track and field athletes taking to the oval for the first time this winter.

View below our honorees on The Podium this week, including our first track and field awardees of the series to kick off the indoor season.

The Podium (Dec. 6):

Nina Dominique, Charlotte Christian (NC): The sophomore clocked two personal bests on Dec. 3 to win both the 55m and 300m at the Liberty High School Opener, running 7.00 in the 55m and 40.21 in the 300m.

Michail Rose, Landry Academy (VA): Swept the 55mH and 500m at the Boo Williams Indoor Season Opener on Dec. 3 and registered a PR in each of the two events. Rose went 1:08.08 in the 500m and ran a current US No. 1 7.62 in the 55mH.

Boston Bybee, Lone Peak (UT): Bybee placed 35th overall at Team Cross Country Nationals on Dec. 3 behind the first sub-18-minute performance of her career. Bybee clocked 17:57.9 and played a crucial role in Lone Peak's impressive fourth-place finish in the team race in Portland.

Brett Kroboth, Peters Township (PA): The Penn State commit crossed the finish in 15:38.3 to take the silver section at the Garmin RunningLane XC Championships on Dec. 3. However, that time compared to the likes of the best finishes in the premiere gold race, and Kroboth's performance from the silver division would have put him 26th in the gold field.
