Last weekend saw state championships wrap up and exciting Team Regionals competition begin.
Many performers had the best outings of their career in their postseason meets.
Top performers featured this week on The Podium include more state champions and athletes that posted significant personal achievements at Team Regionals.

The Podium (Nov. 16):
Maren Wilson, Fort Wayne Northrop (IN): The freshman was the only girl to go under 19-minutes in the freshman/sophomore race at Team Midwest Regionals on Nov. 13 with a finishing time of 18:59.9. That made for Wilson's third sub-19 performance of her first season of high school racing.
Derek Mitchell, Lebanon (VA): The junior won his first-ever Virginia state title, taking home the win in the 1A division in PR-setting fashion. Mitchell clocked 16:14.04 for a new 5k best by 10 seconds.
Evie Malec, Minnetonka (MN): Finished as the top eighth grader in the Team Heartland Regionals championship race on Nov. 13, placing 19th overall in a new PR of 17:53.9 for 5k. That made for Malec's first 5k performance under 18 minutes in her young career.
Micah Slivers, Ganado (AZ): Took home his first Arizona Division 3 state cross country championship behind the first sub-16-minute 5k performance of his career. Slivers ran 15:55.51, earning a 15-second PR en route to the win.
