IHSAA Semi-States, Without A Doubt, Was Eye-Catching

Indiana's Semi-State Championships showcased some major talent across the board this weekend. 

MileSplit50's No. 5 girl, Lily Cridge of Bishop Chatard, won the Semi-State Shelbyville race over Park Tudor's duo Sophia Kennedy and Gretchen Farley

The Oregon commit clocked her third straight sub 17-minute 5K performance, hitting 16:58 on the clock. Kennedy, the Stanford commit, finished second in 17:25.50 and Farley, a Notre Dame recruit, was third in 17:44. 

Kole Mathison once again earned another victory as he heads toward the state championship. On the Blue River Cross Country Course, Mathison of Carmel was the only boy to break 15 minutes in Shelbyville.

The University of Colorado commit clocked 14:56, his third straight sub-15 minute performance and his fourth of the season.

Rounding out the top three performances, Cameron Todd of Brebeuf Jesuit Prep was second in 15:03 and Anthony Provenzano of Carmel was third in 15:07. 

Carmel won the team title with a 1-3-13-22-28 finish with 67 points and a 15:36 average. Zionsville was close for second with 74 points and Center Grove was third with 83 points.

At the Semi-State New Haven Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University, we saw an epic head-to-head matchup between Delta's Nicki Southerland and Homestead's Addison Knoblauch.

The juniors went stride-for-stride throughout. It ended up being Southerland who finished with the better performance of 17:05 to Knoblauch's 17:19.

The sophomore from East Noble, Addison Lindsey, finished third in 18:11. 

On the boys side, a freshman took command to win the title. Noah Bontrager of Westview finished the 5K course in 15:20 over sophomore William Bauschke who clocked a 15:26. Nick Cook of Wapahani was third in 15:35.
