In his second 400m race of the season a year ago, Schroeder clocked a 48.35 at the Grant Holloway Holiday Invitational.
This caught the eyes of many as his performance ranked him in the top five early in the season. When the year concluded, he finished ranked US No. 13.
Fast forward to 2022. This meet will not only be his opener but it will be just his second time racing since that meet last year.
