Makeriah Harris, Scotlandville (LA)

Harris, a sophomore, has a few standout performances already this season.

She clocked a season best of 7.73 seconds in the 60m and a personal best of 24.74 in the 200m from the FasTrak/Coach O Opener. At that same meet, she clocked a U.S. No. 5 in the 60mH with a new personal best of 8.65.

This weekend, she will strive to be the fastest short hurdler and the first girl across the tape in the 400m. In 2021, she was the runner-up at the TFCUSA Indoor National Championships in the 60mH. During the summer, she won the AAU Junior Olympic Games in both the 100mH and 400mH.
