Crazy Fast Wind-Aided 100mH Performance

Although the performance was very wind-aided at +6.1 meters per second, this performance still deserves a huge shout-out.

That shoutout goes to DeSoto's (TX) Jalaysi'ya Smith. The USC signee commanded the field in the Class 6A 100m hurdles on Saturday Night at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Smith posted a wind-aided 12.93 (+6.1). Her time ranks all-conditions US No. 1 for the 2021 season and ties her fellow DeSoto teammate Alexis Duncan (Class of 2016) for the seventh-fastest all-conditions all-time girls 100mH mark. The two are tied as the fourth fastest all-conditions performers in high school history.

The senior also placed second in the 300mH running 42.46 and helped her team finish third in the 4x100m relay. Her performances in all three events helped her team to the team title which they won scoring 72 points.
