The 10 Best Unsigned Track And Field Recruits Remaining

NO. 6 RECRUIT - Micah Williams, Benson (OR)

PRs: 55M: 6.17 - 60M: 6.60 - 100M: 10.21 - 200M: 21.03 - 400M: 48.02

The nation's leading short sprinter, Williams is looking to announce his future home on Jan. 8.

His top three schools are University of Southern California, Oregon and LSU. The senior would be an immediate asset to any of these three programs.

Williams showed major progression on the track during the 2018 season, where he won his first OSAA 6A State Championships in the 100m and 200m. He followed this breakout with a second-place finish at the Brooks PR Invitational.

But it was his fourth-place finish at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships that led him to make the IAAF U20 World Championship team. He went on to win gold in the 4x100m relay in Finland, for his first international competition.

During the 2019 indoor season, Williams ran at just three meets but made the best of his competition. At New Balance Nationals Indoor, he became a two-time champion while also making history: He regained his US No. 1 in the 60m, but also ran the third-fastest time in high school history in 6.60. And in his first ever 55m, he became the sixth best of all-time, with yet another US No. 1.

Williams' 60m effort could have earned him a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Outdoors, he was able to convert those performance into another powerful effort of 10.21 for a US No. 2. His win at the Nike Jesuit Twilight Relays, would have allowed him to tie for eighth place at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Injury sidelined him the rest of the outdoor season.
