Butler's (OH) Shepler is starting the 2020 indoor season at new heights. He recently opened up his competition season with his best opening mark of his career in 16-feet, for an early US No. 1.
Since first jumping that height in 2018, Shepler has found consistency, jumping 16 feet or higher 14 times during 2019.
The consistency was highlighted by major wins and new PRs every other meet. Shepler won the UK HS Invite in 16-4.75 and went on to better the height to win his first indoor state title in 16-6, for a new PR and US No. 7.
He built off that momentum during the outdoor for a new PR of 16-10 at the Division I Region 4 for a US No. 5. He also went on to win another state championship and achieve his second consecutive New Balance All-American status.
