KC Lightfoot Is Unquestionably The Second Best Pole Vaulter In 2018

If there was any doubt who the second best pole vaulter in 2018 was, Lee's Summit (MO) High senior KC Lightfoot probably ended that debate on Saturday.

One of Missouri's all-time best at the event went 18 feet, 5 inches at the Class 5 District 6 Meet in Nixa, becoming the top vaulter in high school history not named Mondo Duplantis.

Lightfoot, a Baylor recruit, has now hit heights of 18-3, 18-1, 18-0 and 18-5 over his last four competitions.

One of only 13 athletes all-time to have gone over 18 feet -- four boys have done it this year -- Lightfoot continues to raise the bar with each passing championship.
